Established in August, 2020, Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Application, GIIT (IABA) is a newly built important state-owned institute affiliated to GIIT. It was built under new situation to implement the innovation-driven development strategy, to accelerate construction of technology innovation platform and carriers, and to provide driving force to the innovation-driven development in Guangxi.

Since its establishment, the IABA has been regarding talents as essential, market demands as orientation, key and generic technology as foundation, commercializing research achievement as duty, uniting innovation collaboration, taking responsibilities, focusing on key technology in AI, big data and the internet of things, implementing the development approach of “the organizer of industrial technology” and the innovation strategy of “first-rate technology, first-rate ideas, first-rate management and first-rate performance”. IABA will strive to become an innovative institute in AI and Big Data with a regional influence, based in Guangxi, opens to the whole country, spreading business to ASEAN and connecting into the whole world.

By June, 2030, IABA has gained Level 3 qualification certificate on both Information System Integration and Service and Information System Operation and Maintenance, built one provincial engineering research center and 3 joint laboratories, taken on 9 key research projects, commercialized 8 research achievements, acquired one pattern and 5 software copyrights, participated in the setting up of one national standard, published 3 thesis in English and Chinese, independently developed a series of smart management system featuring AI and gained results which has independent intellectual property rights.

IABA works on AI (computer vision and intelligent video analysis, natural language processing), digital governance and big data analysis, the internet of things and block chains.
