Established in August 2020, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Application, GIIT (hereinafter referred to as "AI Institute") is one of the first self-built research institutes under the GIIT and also Guangxi's first new R&D institution named for Artificial Intelligence. As a pioneer in new-generation information technology, AI Institute has cultivated a talent team with full-stack development capabilities and become a specialized talent hub in Guangxi.
The institute has established multiple innovation platforms and is recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative (SRDI) SME, and a Guangxi Digital Literacy and Skills Training Base. It has undertaken over twenty national and provincial-level R&D projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The institute holds 81 intellectual property rights, including 7 authorized invention patents, 71 software copyrights, and 3 trademarks. It possesses certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 20000, ISO 27000, CMMI Level 3, DCMM Level 2, and SPCA Level 3. It has participated in macro-planning and project formulation for Guangxi's digital economy, data centers, and digital infrastructure, serving as a drafting unit for documents including the "National Digital Transformation Roadmap", "National Industrial Internet Big Data Center Industrial Intelligence Computing Base Evaluation Standards", and "Industrial Software Product Classification and Coding".
The Autonomous Region Party Committee and Government issued the "Decision on Accelerating the High-Quality Development of Artificial Intelligence," which calls for introducing national strategic technological capabilities in AI and lists "promoting the construction of the 'China-ASEAN Large Model Application Laboratory'" as a key task. Within the Autonomous Region's AI Development Task Force, the GIIT is responsible for developing and deploying large-scale industry-specific application models. The AI Institute drives the construction of Guangxi's AI foundational capabilities and empowers industrial transformation and upgrading, establishing sustainable output capabilities. This includes cultivating specialized talents, developing and deploying vertical industry application models, researching industrial scenario applications, building corpora, promoting self-developed large models in ASEAN markets, and advancing AI security governance.

Chief Talent: Dr. YE Bo, Vice President of GIIT and Director of the AI Institute, is an expert recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance. He holds a Ph.D. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and is a Professor-Level Senior Engineer, Professor (T2), and Outstanding Expert of the Autonomous Region.
Other High-Level Talents: AI Institute has established a talent team model of "Innovation Platform + Leading Talent + Innovation Team + Innovation Project". Among them, there are about 20 high-caliber individuals with different kinds and grades of tittle/honor/recognition: Guangxi "New Century Ten Hundred Thousand Talent Project" (Second Tier), Nanning High-Level Talent, Professors, Ph.D. holders, and senior professionals. Besides, AI Institute has incubated 12 tech spin-offs companies.
Research Achievements
Focusing on Guangxi's industrial application scenarios, the AI Institute conducts in-depth R&D, having overcome 15 key industrial core technologies. It has produced over 20 research outcomes, winning the Guangxi Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize) and the Hubei Provincial Technology Invention Award (First Prize). Three AI achievements were selected for the first batch of Guangxi AI products and vertical models in 2025: the Super-Tools Intelligent Edge Computing Terminal All-in-One Machine, the "AI Zhuang-Gui" R&D Service Platform, and the Multimodal Depression Recognition Solution based on the DeepSeek open-source large model. The self-developed digital product, the 5G+ Intelligent Heavy-Duty Transport Robot, was selected as an Excellent Scenario in the National Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's 2023 Smart Manufacturing Demonstration Factory. Four industry solutions were included in Guangxi's Industrial Chain Scenario Capability List, and one scenario was selected for Guangxi's first batch of "AI+" Open Action Scenarios: Research and Application Demonstration of an Intelligent Duet Digital Human System for Guangxi Folk Songs Based on Large Model Technology. The institute serves dozens of Guangxi's leading enterprises, such as Liuzhou Steel Group, LiuGong Group, and Guangxi Automobile Group, as well as over 1,000 SMEs.

"Super-Tools" Large Model All-in-One Machine
The "Super-Tools" Large Model All-in-One Machine features dual AI engines—DeepSeek R1 (671B) full-blooded version and Tongyi Qianwen V2.5 (72B)—combining rapid thinking and deep analysis capabilities. It is a cost-effective, energy-efficient smart office product that is easy to deploy, plug-and-play, and requires no specialized computer room modifications. Equipped with eight office application suites, it provides an integrated AI service solution, ensuring secure and cutting-edge AI productivity tools for users. The product is mature, secure, compliant, and convenient, with its private deployment and closed-loop operation making it a trusted daily AI tool for government and enterprise users.
"AI Zhuang-Gui" AI R&D Service Platform
The "AI Zhuang-Gui" AI R&D Service Platform offers full-stack capabilities for large model training, inference, intelligent agent application development, heterogeneous computing resource scheduling, and industry dataset integration. It comprises two core components: the Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform and the Model Application Building (Intelligent Agent) platform. The MaaS platform serves as a one-stop solution for large model development and inference, integrating key functions such as dataset management, model training, and online inference to facilitate customized development of vertical industry models. The Intelligent Agent platform focuses on application-level construction, combining modules like knowledge bases, agents, and plugins with visual workflow orchestration to rapidly respond to complex business scenarios and enable quick development and deployment of intelligent applications. Recently completed and launched, this platform is a key achievement of the research institute, supporting the construction of the China-ASEAN AI Innovation Cooperation Center (Southern Center) and the Guangxi AI+ Capability System.
"Super-Tools" Intelligent Edge Computing Terminal
A high-performance software-hardware integrated device designed for AI edge scenarios. It can deploy multiple vertical large models and process complex data in real-time (as of June 13, 2025) to make rapid intelligent decisions. Its industrial-grade hardware design ensures stable operation in harsh environments, supporting multiple interfaces and communication protocols for applications in smart security, industrial automation, and intelligent transportation. Through deep software-hardware integration, it enables efficient edge computing, significantly reducing latency and bandwidth usage while providing secure and reliable large model edge application solutions. The product prototype has been completed, trademarks registered, and it is deployed at the Nanning Railway Bureau and Baise Tobacco Logistics Park.
